OUR VALUES & MISSION

Named in honour of Georges Mora, the Fellowships’s principal aims are to:

  • recognise and to regenerate Georges’ role in the support and promotion of contemporary visual art and artists

  • facilitate and encourage fresh and independent thinking required for the development of art

  • provide a voice and platform for the discussion of the ideas behind art in Melbourne and Australia and grow as a sustainable and highly-effective foundation that is relevant and valued by the community.

In 2004, the Fellowship was registered with the Register of Cultural Organisations and was granted tax-deductibility status. In May 2006, the Fellowship was officially launched by Baillieu Myer with inaugural Patron, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch.
