On Thursday 18th October art lovers and supporters of the Georges Mora Fellowship donned their chic attire to attend the annual fundraiser at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. This year’s theme was Cafe Balzac, Georges’ first famous Melbourne restaurant. Guests were wined and dined whilst they bid on an array of generously donated auction items. Many thanks to the speakers, Kendrah Morgan, Jude Walton and Caroline WIlliams Mora as well as everyone who attended and made it such an enjoyable evening!

Kendrah Morgan

Kendrah Morgan provided interesting insights into the character of Georges Mora, uncovered during her recent collaboration with Lesley Harding. The pair have written new book, Mirka & Georges: A Culinary Affair, which explores untold stories from the Mora circle, including never before seen images from family albums and recipes from their iconic restaurants.

Jude Walton

Jude Walton, this year’s winner of the Georges Mora Fellowship spoke about her upcoming project, Nadja-Léona. This activated installation performance provides a contemporary feminist perspective on André Breton’s text Nadja. Performances will be held later this month at the Alliance Francais from Wednesday 28th November until Saturday the 1st December. As Jude said, places are limited so book your place here before you miss out!

Farewell to Odilla O'Boyle

The Board of the Georges Mora Fellowship bid a sad farewell to their much beloved Board member, Odilla O’Boyle. Her energy and enthusiasm, not to mention her hard work over seven years, will be greatly missed.
